I just subscribed to diigo and think it might be a good start, as well as that classroom20 website that was listed on the wiki. Diigo seems to be tailored for educational uses.
I had sent an invitation to all in the class. It is really a great social bookmarking site because you can highlight and share notes on specific sentences and such within the article.
Technology needs to be embedded into every subject area. Reading is a great place to start. There are many great websites that students can go to and communicate with authors, share poetry, and complete activities associated with reading. As I discover access these sites I will pass them on to you.
